Daughter pays tribute to dad after mountain bike crash
A 52-year-old father who died after crashing his mountain bike in Daisy Hill forest in Brisbane's south has been remembered as a "lovely man".
Simon Gould was found unconscious at the bottom of a very steep trail in the conservation park about 8am on Monday.
He suffered a critical but "isolated" head injury, a Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said.
It is understood he was riding with friends when he crashed.
Mr Gould, from Wellington Point, was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital by ambulance but died about 9pm.
His teenage daughter Andrea, who sat by her father's hospital bed on Monday night, has paid tribute to her father on Facebook, Brisbanetimes reported.
Police probe mountain bike death in state forest
POLICE are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal mountain bike crash in the Daisy Hill State Forest.
Early information suggests at around 8am on Monday, a 53-year-old man was found unconscious at the bottom of a very steep trail by other mountain bike riders.
It would appear the man was mountain bike riding and lost control.
The man was rushed to the Princess Alexander hospital with serious injuries but passed away hours later.
Police are seeking any information which would assist their investigation.
