UPDATE:POLICE have not ruled out the possibility of suspicious circumstances, after finding a woman's body at a unit in Alfred St, Gympie on Friday afternoon.

But further investigations would be needed to confirm a cause of death, a Police Media spokeswoman said early this afternoon.

Police have cordoned off the house and investigations are continuing into the cause and circumstances of the death. They say the body was found at Unit 2, 32 Alfred St and have asked for anyone with relevant information to let them know, via Crime Stoppers on 1300 333 000. ...

 

EARLIER: GYMPIE detectives are investigating the cause of death of a woman, whose body was found in a house in Alfred St, Gympie on Friday afternoon.

Police have cordoned off the house, prompting suggestions of suspicious circumstances.

A CIB spokesman said a few minutes ago that investigations were continuing.
