UPDATE: Police are investigating the sudden death of man in Branyan, Bundaberg this morning.

Around 7am the body of a man believed to be in his 50s was located near the intersection of the Isis Highway and Childers Road.

A crime scene has been established and investigations are ongoing.

There is no further information available at this stage.

EARLIER: Police are on scene after a body was found on the side of the Isis Hwy near the Kentucky Bluegrass estate.

Queensland Ambulance Service senior operations supervisor Martin Kelly confirmed emergency services responded to the scene about 7am.

"Two ambulances and a duty officer responded but the man was clearly deceased and had been for some period of time," he said.

Mr Kelly said the man was estimated to be aged in his 40s or 50s.

Detective Inspector David Briese said police were trying to "piece together" what had happened. 

"At this point in time we really don't know," he said.

Det Insp Briese urged anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
