AN ADVANCED hydroponic system and marijuana plants have been seized from the home of two brothers near Goombungee.

The men, aged 51 and 45, have each been charged with producing a dangerous drug, possessing a dangerous drug and possessing things used in the commission of a crime.

Darling Downs District Tactical Crime Squad officers went to the Meringandan Goombungee Rd property about 8.50am yesterday.

Acting officer-in-charge Mick Youngberry said police found the hydroponic set up in a shed.

About 13 plants, of varying maturity, were also found.

A large amount of chemicals used to grow the plants as well as a 5000W diesel-powered electric generator were also located at the property.

Acting Senior Sergeant Youngberry said officers also located a second hydroponic set up in a bedroom of the home, which had been used to grow seedlings.

The older man was released on bail while the younger sibling has today remained in custody.

He is due to front Toowoomba Magistrates Court tomorrow.
