Celebrity plant doctor to heal sick plants at Garden Expo

GARDENERS with sick plants are invited to draw on the knowledge of a Gardening Australia television personality at next month's Gympie Garden Expo.

Jerry Coleby-Williams has been named a guest at this year's May 2 event, bringing with him a bank of knowledge on all things horticultural.

Mr Coleby-Williams has been gardening since the age of four and is using his Gympie visit to discuss talking points such as organic basics and home orchards.

He will also be hosting his popular question and answer segment, where gardeners may bring along sick plants for timely advice.

Mr Coleby-Williams also specialises in the identification of garden bugs and diseases. Gardeners are asked to bring them along in a well-sealed container.

The avid gardener has been a presenter on ABC TV's Gardening Australia show since 2000 and joined 4BC Radio as a talkback gardening presenter on the station's weekend breakfast show in 2014.

Mr Coleby-Williams is also a director of the Seed Savers' Network and patron of Householder's Options for Protecting the Environment.

He also founded Bellis - an award-winning sustainable house and garden in Brisbane in 2003.
