Plant to be built for Caval Ridge coal mine

ENGINEERING firm Monadelphous has scored a building contract worth $100 million to build the coal handling plant for the Caval Ridge coal mine, south-east of Moranbah in Central Queensland.

The work on the BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance-owned mine is expected to begin immediately, with construction to finish late next year.

Earthworks at Caval Ridge began earlier this year with BMA still aiming for first coal exports in 2014.
