POLICE have located the body of a woman at the scene of an ultralight plane crash near Beerburrum-Woodford Rd, Beerburrum.

The body was located earlier this morning after a joint search by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority and Queensland Police Service.

The 56-year-old woman was the sole occupant of the aircraft which left Caboolture Airport about 9.15am on Sunday.

Police will prepare a report for the Coroner.

Aerial searchers reported the sighting of a body at the sight earlier this morning, as rescuers made their way into the area.

A search of the region resumed at first light this morning, after efforts late yesterday failed to find the aircraft..
