Pay dispute escalates

THE Newman government has lodged an application with the industrial umpire in a bid to resolve the public sector pay dispute.

Treasurer Tim Nicholls has fronted the media alongside the Minister Assisting the Premier, Glen Elmes, to announce the Public Service Conmission had lodged an application with the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission this morning.

The dispute involves the core public service agreement for tens of thousands of public servants.
