Paul has dining down to a tee

CHEF Paul Jones has taken over the restaurant and function room at Gympie Golf Club and called it Jonesy's on the Green.

Known for serving scrumptious meals at Zest Bistro from his kitchen at Charlies Hotel, Mr Jones will provide top-shelf food at both eateries, alternating his time between them with sous chef James Barndan.

He took on the Gympie Golf Club lease to cater for large numbers and offer the people of Gympie an alternative function venue.

A good scrub and polish was what the venue needed. Partitions have been pulled down and windows previously boarded have been opened to let in the light.

"It's a beautiful spot that has great potential," Mr Jones said.

Jonesy's on the Green is open for lunch Wednesday to Friday and is hosting the Friday Night Experience with music and dinner.

The fixed menu will rotate between pizza and pasta, roasts, schnitzels and curry nights with four or five different selections available.

Entertainment will be listed in The Gympie Time's gig guide every Friday.

Some big acts on the bill are Creedence Clearwater Recycled, Bee Gees Tribute and stand-up comedian Col Everett.

Entertainment will also be held on the first Sunday of each month.
