Palmer 'risking jail' over fine

BILLIONAIRE Clive Palmer is risking a jail sentence after failing to pay a $333 ticket for speeding.

The Gold Coast Bulletin reported that the mining magnate was stopped by Gold Coast police in January, allegedly driving his Mercedez Benz 27kmh over the limit.

He was given the ticket and lost four demerit points but he has still not paid his fine.

It was reported that Mr Palmer was trying to contest the fine, despite the 28-day appeal period having lapsed.
