A FACEBOOK site called Ipswich Deserves Better is highly critical of Mayor Paul Pisasale and Ipswich City Council and now Cr David Pahlke has publicly asked Steve Axe to admit he is one of its administrators.

Mr Axe is an electorate officer for Bundamba MP and Police Minister Jo-Ann Miller, who is engaged in a public spat with Cr Pisasale over the proposed move of the Police Communications Centre to Brisbane.

When questioned by the QT, Mr Axe reiterated that he "was not confirming nor denying" being an administrator but did admit to being "a follower" of the site.

An Ipswich Deserves Better administrator was highly critical of The QT and Cr Pisasale's push to have the comms centre remain in Ipswich, and posted the following comment on Friday: "What a beat up by the Paul Pisasale and The Qld Times over the Police Communications Centre! Since when does someone who outsources Council Services and privatises services have a right to criticise anyone?

"Plain and simple it says no jobs losses and more cops, we should be thanking Police."

Mr Axe, on his own Facebook page, made similar comments and outlined eight reasons why the relocation was a positive step.

"If people looked at the facts and didn't play petty politics they would see this is a boost for Police Services in Ipswich," he said on Facebook.

Responding on the Ipswich Deserves Better site, Cr Pahlke said opposition to the relocation was "NOT a beat up at all - a real community concern."

The site moderator responded with "whipped up by hysteria".

Cr Pahlke later posted: "IT appears this page is not as open and fair as you make out Steve."

The administrator responded with "Who?"

Cr Pahlke told the QT it would be out of order for an Ipswich MP's staff member to be administering an anti-Ipswich Council website.

"Everyone in the Labor Party who knows Steve Axe well tells me he is doing it," Cr Pahlke said.

"If that is the case, then it would be like the Mayor's PA having a Facebook site bagging the State Government all the time.

"It is just not appropriate and it flies in the face of the whole public sentiment in Ipswich of trying to lift Ipswich on a pedestal.

"If this is Jo-Ann Miller's pseudo Facebook site attacking Ipswich all the time, then put your real name on it. Jo-Ann Miller's shenanigans are dragging Ipswich down and dragging council down and that is where I get concerned."

Cr Pahlke said the site reflected Ms Miller's "hatred of the Mayor in particular".

Ms Miller told the QT yesterday she had "never seen" the site, had not heard of it and had no knowledge of Mr Axe's involvement.

The QT spoke to Labor Party sources who confirmed it was understood Mr Axe was a site administrator and that Ms Miller was determined to see Cr Pisasale removed from office.

"That is all well known in Labor circles," one source said.

Mr Axe said it was "pure speculation" that he was an administrator.

"I have not discussed that page with anyone from the Labor Party, apart from maybe its comments where people have said 'did you see this'," he said.

Asked about the tone of the site, Mr Axe said "people are allowed to have different views to council".

"I support free speech," Mr Axe said.

"This is a democracy. This is not North Korea... and if people want the city to progress (council) should be open to democratic debate."

The site is opposed to the LNP and highly critical of council and Cr Pisasale's choice of associates, as in the following post:

"Why does the apparently Labor Mayor hang out at the restaurant of prominent LNP types at Gambaros? Has he jumped ship?"

Cr Pisasale said he was proud of being on good terms with politicians of the left and right and called on Mr Axe to contact him if he had any issues with the way the city was run.

"As Mayor I have to be independent and work with everybody. I always give every state and federal member respect because the city and the people have got to come first," he said.

"What disappoints me is that there are people like Steve Axe who are on all the various websites hurting the city.

"If Steve has a problem, get on the phone and ring me."
