One Nation wins draw
VOTING for One Nation has never been easier in Gympie, with the so-called "donkey vote" being even better than the party's Gympie candidate Santo Ferraro could have wished for.
"It came out just the right way. I'm at the top," Mr Ferraro said this week.
Family First candidate Kathy Hawke recommended that her supporters give her their No. 1 vote and then give preferences as they see fit.
The Australian Party's Shane Paulger was recommending a first preference (No. 1) vote for him, with second preference to One Nation's Mr Ferraro and a third preference to Family First's Ms Hawke.
Labor candidate Ben Parker and the LNP's incumbent David Gibson are each recommending a "just vote 1" strategy, with no extra preferences.
And the party office of Queensland Greens' Shena MacDonald said the party was not recommending preferences in Gympie or any of its surrounding electorates.
