Tin Can Bay men's

THE men's championships are underway with the singles down to the last eight players.

The next round is due for completion this Sunday, February 18.

Please remember it is play on or before the due date.

Last Wednesday the men's pairs winners were Ron Tracey and Tony Broom.

Runner-ups were Herb Dittman and Don Goode. On Saturday in the open pairs the winners were Tina and Barry Andersen with the runners-up Ron Tracey and Tony Broom.

Don't forget that the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month is nominated men's pairs and on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday it is club selected men's pairs.

Each Saturday is open 3 bowl pairs. We are now playing for a breakfast tray for the winners and cash for runner ups on both Saturday and Wednesday.

Sheets are on the board outside the clubhouse to nominate for a game. Also we now have a noticeboard just inside the club for all important announcements/notices.

The shade people tell me we are very close to having the new shade cloth erected which will be good in this heat.

Albert Bowls

WEEKLY winners:

Wednesday were N Hill and A Harratt and runners-up were P Bannister, L Locker and P Benson.

Friday's winner were G Holzigal and R Wadrop and runner-up were Alexa and Wendy. Last round was R and S Ramsay.

The weekend Great 8's were men's Red's and Green's won while the Yellows lost. The ladies won.

Coming up:

Tomorrow, February 16 will be open jackpot pairs at 1pm.

Saturday, February 17 will see the Great 8's division 1 red team playing Rainbow Beach at home.

Division 3 Yellow side will play Pacific Paradise away.

Division 5 Green team will play Bribie Island away.

The ladies division 3 Topaz side will play Bongaree at home.

Any player that is unavailable should let Julian, Gary or Mark as soon as possible.

Regular games:

Every Wednesday at 12.30pm there is graded club selected pairs mufti and every Friday at 1pm is the open mixed jackpot pairs.

The first Tuesday of every month at 10am is the men's open jackpot pairs mufti.

Ring the club on 5482 1095 to arrange a time for a coaching session.

These sessions are available only by appointment.

For social bowling or hiring the hall or functions ring 5482 1095 or leave a message.

New bowlers are always welcome.

R.S.L. Social Bowls

We will be playing under the shade this Sunday, February 18 in the morning.

You must be at the Albert Club by 10am for a 10.30am start.

Please have your name in early if you are playing.

Gympie Men's

THE heat wave is on everyone's mind at the moment so we are all hoping for a bit cooler weather for today's mixed bowls starting at 9.30am.

It was still very hot at 4pm when the Tuesday, February 13 bowlers ventured onto the green but it soon turned into a very pleasant evening.

Last weeks winners' of the Southside Takeaways sponsored game were Bill Wheeler and Les Downs.

Dave Shaw won the raffle.

Entries are still open for some of the club champions games, see Roger Ingram.

Our Gr8's teams had a good day at Coolum, winning the 4's 23-9 and both pairs games by narrow margins.

SUBURBS will hold Gloria Jordon's memorial day social this Saturday, February 17 at 1pm.

The five Game Day is being held on Sunday, February 25. Please ring Phyllis if you can play on that day to help make teams. Please donate some lucky doors for the day.

Despite the stormy weather 12 members enjoyed 3 games. There are no scores available. The raffle was donated by Bonnie And won by John Watkins.

Suburbs

John welcomed 15 players on Monday, February 12 in the afternoon with a special welcome to Gloria and her son Gavin.

Gloria and Reg took home the goodies and high scores went to Phyllis 39 Hester 37 Charlie and Mel both on 30. We look forward to new players coming for a roll up on Monday, February 19.

Indoor bowls is a challenging game for all ages. We are looking for and we encourage younger people to come and try it out.

Suburbs social this Saturday, February 17and kitchen help at 10.30. Please bring some goodies for afternoon tea and a lucky door prize as well.
