Olivia's Quest in the Aussie Power Pageant

Working as a special needs teacher, volunteering, fundraising, juggling a social life and competing in pageants.

Seems like a lot doesn't it?

Well one Queenslander manages to take it all in her stride. Olivia Raffaele is a young woman from Brisbane who states that pageantry has had only a positive effect on her life.

"Growing up, pageants were something that I only thought that extremely tall and ridiculously good looking people would do, and that's not it at all. The women that compete have done some extraordinary things in their lives; it's actually quite inspiring."

Miss Raffaele is a national finalist of both Miss Global and Miss Intercontinental Australia 2017; the director Lucinda Fergusson has named this the 'Aussie Power Pageant'.

"We get the chance to compete for two titles on the one night which is fantastic! The same night will also involve the Australian Teen Queen Pageant, making it the first pageant to give away three big titles, hence the name."

Olivia has seen great successes in the pageant world, having placed 2nd Runner Up in the previous Miss Global Australia and Miss Galaxy Australia Pageants.

"I am so proud of how much I have grown over the past two years. It is a slow progress however it only makes me more determined."

With many pageant systems available today, some might ask what makes this system different.

"Celebration of diversity. This is not a cookie cutter pageant, it involves real character and the opportunity to celebrate your heritage.

"I also love the fundraising aspect, as we get to choose which charity to fundraise for. I have chosen UNICEF Australia's Syria Crisis Appeal; a very relevant and prominent issue that needs more action."

Olivia will be competing in the national finals of Miss Global and Miss Intercontinental Australia in early August 2017 on Queensland's Gold Coast.
