Older driver pulls out on vehicle

A DRIVER trying to enter the Bruce Hwy misjudged the length of a passing vehicle and clipped a caravan as it passed the intersection.

Police said a 73-year-old driver had been waiting at the Purcell Rd intersection at Curra about midday on Monday before pulling onto the highway but she started the turn too soon and crashed into a caravan being towed by a Toyota LandCruiser.

As she tried to pull in behind the north-bound car and caravan, she hit its rear, damaging the Range Rover's bumper bar and driver's side headlight as well as the left-hand side of the caravan.

No one was injured and both vehicles were driven from the scene.
