Pavey wins boat in Fishing Classic

Norman Pavey is going home to book his holidays for next year after having the time of his life with family and friends at the Mitsubishi Motors Rainbow Beach Family Fishing Classic.

Norman was the winner of the major prize at the classic a $25,000 boat and trailer package.

“I was pretty excited when my name got drawn out,” Norman said yesterday.

“I let out a yell and I think I have strained my voice box.

“It was a good feeling it is the biggest thing I have ever won in my life.”

Norm said the sad thing was he already owned a boat he had built for his young family and thinks he may have to sell the prize.

“It is a great boat, but I don’t need two,” he said.

Event spokesperson Linda Adam said family man Norman was the perfect person to win the $25,000 boat package at the Mitsubishi Motors Family Fishing Classic.

She said Mr Pavey and his family wife Fiona, son Jackson 6 and three-year-old identical twins Oscar and Dustin were what the Rainbow Beach Family Fishing Classic was all about.

She said the Classic was about having a good time with your family and friends.

“Norman would always be the last to fish because he was always helping out the kids bait hooks and untangle lines,” Ms Adam said.
