Noosa smashes Cats

THE Gympie Cats AFL side is languishing at the bottom of the Sunshine Coast Division 3 ladder after being pummelled by Noosa at the weekend.

Playing at the Six Mile Oval in Gympie Saturday, the Cats lost the Round 5 encounter 4.3(27) to 19.13(127).

The score line was devastating for the club following coach Jason Kent’s declaration before the weekend the game was “make-or-break”.

After five rounds of defeats, the Cats’ season is looking extremely bleak. However, what remains is pride and the side will be doing all it can to finish with some degree of respectability.

The Cats play long term arch rivals Pomona away this weekend with kick off at 2pm.
