Emergency situation revoked after man arrested

UPDATE: The emergency situation has been revoked. 

The declaration was revoked at 8:43am after a 42-year-old man was taken into custody by police.

The man had been armed with a replica handgun and had refused to leave the building. 

No one was physically injured in the incident. 

All roads are now open and the exclusion zone lifted. 

EARLIER: A MAN who is possibly armed has caused police to declare an emergency situation in Windsor this morning.

Police say around 4am they went to a unit complex on Newmarket Road following a noise complaint. 

The emergency declaration was made at 5:57am after the man refused to leave the building. 

Police don't believe anyone else is in the unit. 

An exclusion zone (pictured) has been established and is bounded by Newmarket Road and Green Terrace to Nicholas Street, Lutwytche Road South, north to Eildon Road, west to the corner of Prospect Road and Cox Road and south to Newmarket Road.

Police remain on the scene as negotiators attempt to speak to the man.

There is no further information available at this stage.
