Gympie pork and limes set for Delicious Magazine Award finals

TWO of the Gympie region's finest primary producers have been selected as finalists in the prestigious Delicious Magazine Produce Awards.

Suncoast Limes with their Lime Refresher in the From the Earth (Artisan) Category and Rhodavale Pork for their humane choice certified true free range pastured pork in the From the Paddock (Primary) category.

Over the past six months, the public and producers have entered almost 3000 nominations from all over Australia.

State judges were tasked with selecting the best of their state in the Earth, Dairy, Paddock and Sea categories to send through to the final round of national judging.

Delicious editor-in-chief Kerrie McCallum said 2015 marked the 10th anniversary of the Produce Awards.

"Every year we are continually blown away by the quality of produce being grown, sourced and hand-crafted in this country," Mrs McCallum said.

The finalists' produce is blind-tasted by a national panel of judges who decide the overall category winners, revealed at a special event in Sydney on July 27.
