10 cars suffer flat tyres at Caboolture, but cause unknown

EVEN hours after mystery debris on the southbound lanes of the Bruce Highway near Burpengary, south of Caboolture, popped tyres on cars, there is no understanding of what it was.

Crews from Transport and Main Roads were on the scene for the clean up, but haven't gotten to the pointy end of the cause.

According to a spokesman:

We're yet to determine what caused flat tyres to about 10 vehicles this morning on the Bruce Highway southbound, just north of Caboolture.

Our maintenance crews are continuing to undertake a full inspection of the southbound lanes of the highway - particularly from Buchanan Road south to Anzac Avenue.

By 10.30am, the road was understood to be cleared and the warning had been removed from traffic alert sites.

Road conditions website 131940 was reporting a "debris or vegetation hazard" but no traffic delays were expected.

It urged drivers to "proceed with caution".
