Mustering up party atmosphere
WIDGEE Country Music Club will come into its own with a pre-muster party in the grounds of Thornside Homestead from noon next Saturday, August 11.
It's the home of the original Gympie Country Music Muster, and the afternoon will begin with walk-up artists, Australian Institute of Country Music students plus lots of great regional talent.
Following will be special guest artists including the Albrechts, Mitchell Steele, LivYoung, Ron E Jay and Karen Thomsen, not forgetting those notorious Webb Brothers (the ones who started the whole shebang back in the 1980s) who will be making a special appearance.
Admission is $10 for adults but children are free. There'll be a sausage sizzle as well as delicious steak burgers on sale, soft drinks for the youngsters and a licensed bar on site.
There will be plenty of space to sit and enjoy the entertainment but BYO chairs or picnic blankets.
For the overnighters free camping sites are available, just BYO tent or gear and enjoy breakfast with the Webbs on Sunday morning.
The party is expected to continue until late so don't forget to wear your thermals.
