Muster talent shines in 2014

THE Gympie Music Muster's historic Talent Search is on again for 2014 and this year the prizes are bigger and better than ever.

The talent search competition gives emerging artists the opportunity to perform in front of thousands of punters on the Main Stage at the iconic Gympie Music Muster and win big, with prizes worth more than $40,000.

Applicants can join either the Junior Talent (15 and 16 years) or Open Category (all ages) by submitting a bio photo, one video and one audio performance online at www.muster.com.au/entryform. Applications for the Digital Heats close at midnight on Sunday, July 20.

Twenty-seven artists will then be selected from the Digital Heats to go head to head in the semi-finals, and the best five (two junior and three open) will battle it out in the grand final on the Gympie Music Muster Main Stage in front of a panel of seasoned industry experts.

The winner will be crowned 2014's most promising new talent in each category.

Talent Search champions will be in stellar company - previous winners include country music legends Samantha and Brooke McClymont (of The McClymonts), Drew McAlister (of McAlister Kemp) and Mark O'Shea (of O'Shea).

"I can't tell you what an incredible opportunity the Talent Search is for new artists,'' Samantha McClymont said.

"Brooke and I winning the competition was a huge kick-start for the McClymonts and I'll never forget the feeling of the first time I played on the Main Stage at Gympie.

"It was the experience of a lifetime."
