Muster magic heats up with just seven days to go
IT'S time to get excited because the Gympie Music Muster is only seven days away.
But anticipation has been building for three weeks, with 600 campers flooding into Amamoor.
Muster general manager Jeff Chandler said preparations were going well.
"The Muster office is a hub of activity... we have boxes of merchandise ready to go out to the site," he said.
"Semi-trailers have been in, setting up and rain has helped green things up."
The majority of acts will be Australian this year, as well as some local talent which may include X-Factor contestant Caitlyn Shadbolt.
Mr Chandler said he was expecting around 50,000 music-lovers to walk through the gates - many of whom he hoped would be Gympie region residents.
Residents buying tickets pay only $76; a 40% saving.
"We want to look after locals and encourage them to come out and see how much the Muster has changed - the Muster is all about the experience," Mr Chandler said.
Performers take to the Muster stage on Thursday, August 27.
However, the music festival starts the day before, with the Pre-Muster Street Party in Mary St. It has been in hiatus for the past three years, but local demand has brought it back.
From 10am, Australian Institute of Country Music students will entertain and some of this year's Muster Talent Search entrants will be performing throughout the day.
