Three mums and a baby is four times the fun

MOTHER'S Day was three times as a special for first-time mum Danielle Miles.

Not only did the Currimundi woman celebrate it with her eight-month-old daughter Airlie, she also was able to spend the day with her mother Narelle Haden and grandmother Daphne Chaplin.

The four generations of the close-knit family all live together, in a house that has been extended for each generation.

"It does feel a little extra-special; I'm just really thankful that we've got her," Mrs Miles said of her new motherhood.

"I've been spoilt and I got a sleep-in this morning.

"I said I wasn't going to change any nappies, but that didn't work."

The women spent the morning together before heading out to lunch with Danielle's husband Andrew and her sister Tammy, who is soon to be married.

"I just hope she grows up like my two girls - they've been good, they never snuck out at night, they were just very well behaved," Mrs Haden said of her granddaughter.

"I'm proud of what my girls have done and I hope the same for this little one."

"I hope I see her grow up, that she can get a good job, that she's healthy and happy and has a good education," added Mrs Chaplin.

"I hope she does well at school; I hope she has the same passion for the environment that I have, the same love of animals that I do," Mrs Miles said.

"And I'm an artist.

"So I hope she follows that too and likes painting and drawing."

"Just spending the day together is important," Mrs Miles said.

"The fact that grandma's a great-grandma means a great deal to me."
