MP's open house
ATTORNEY-GENERAL Paul Lucas stopped by Gladstone yesterday to view the first finished homes of the $100 million HillClose development.
Mr Lucas and Gladstone Labor candidate Glenn Butcher were impressed by the affordability of the houses available.
"To be able to buy a house for $350,000 is extraordinary," Mr Lucas said.
"One of the things that we want to be absolutely careful of is that nurses, teachers and police have affordable housing."
Nine successful applicants in the MyPlace ballot will be able to sign their new home contracts next week.
The Urban Land Development Authority will launch HillClose's third stage to the public in the next few weeks.
