Motorist shares shocking attempted car-jacking ordeal

A THIEF who stole a Ford GT Mustang on Thursday afternoon remains on the run.

A Police Media spokesperson confirmed authorities were still searching for the main offender, who was yet to be located after crashing the stolen vehicle into the front fence of a home in Archibald Street on Friday morning.

A 36-year-old man, who was a witness to the crash, claimed the offender lost control of the Mustang before coming to a stop. He then made an attempt to steal his vehicle.

"He got out of the passenger side and started running towards me and screamed at me to stop," the motorist said.

"I realised this guy stole that car and he wants my car and that wasn't happening. I got out of there and he realised I wasn't stopping for him so he turned around and car jacked the car behind me... it was a little blue car.

"It seems a little strange because I haven't heard that guy come forward and say 'hey listen, I got car jacked'."

Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
