Moffatt claims silver in Hamburg

EMMA Moffatt has shown she is in top form ahead of the London Olympics finishing a narrow second to Australian team mate Erin Densham at the ITU Triathlon Series event in Hamburg.

The Woolgoolga raised 27-year-old was in front for much of the race but could not hold off a fast finishing Densham.

Despite finishing second it was Moffatt's best ITU series result since the Yokohama triathlon in September.

Having won the Hamburg event last year, Moffatt was confident of her chances and believes she is firing on all cylinders for the Olympics.

"To be able to race in front of that many spectators is exciting," Moffatt said.

"Today I felt pretty good, swim, biking and running, so I'm happy where everything is at.

"It's only two weeks until the Olympics, you can't really change much but it's nice just knowing you are coming into some good form."

Moffat will join Densham and Emma Jackson as Australia's Olympic representatives in the Women's Triathlon event on August 4.
