Moderate possibility a cyclone will form in the north: BOM
AS southern Queensland communities continue to mop up from recent floods, the state's north is on cyclone watch.
There is a moderate possibility a tropical cyclone will form in the Coral Sea from Wednesday, according to the weather bureau.
"We've got the south-easterly winds coming into the Coral Sea, and then we've got the monsoonal north-westerly winds to the north," Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Ken Kato said.
A cyclone could form where the two winds meet.
