Mercury to hit 35C, early start to summer

IT SEEMS only yesterday we were saying spring had sprung and now we have to get ready for an early taste of summer.

After a reasonably mild weekend, the temperature is forecast to starting heating up today.

The mercury is tipped to peak for the week on Wednesday with a very warm 35 degrees on hump day.

The Weather Channel expects it to cool off on Thursday before the mercury starts north again heading into next week.
