Masters closure meeting

A MEETING will be held on Monday at the Gympie Civic Centre for all employees affected by the closure of Masters Engineering Contractors.

Local Employment Co-ordinator, Garry Davison said yesterday anyone who has been affected by the closure is encouraged to attend 5.30pm meeting.

Mr Davison said there would be speakers from the Queensland Government’s Rapid Response Team who can provide one-on-one assistance, Centrelink in relation to financial matters and from other local employment and community agencies.

“Retrenchment can be a very difficult time and there is a lot of information that people need,” he said. “We don’t know what the workers have been told by the receivers but we want to make sure they have the right information.

“Calling this meeting is the best way we know to make sure that everyone has all the information they need as quickly as possible.

“I would encourage all workers affected by the closure to attend. Of course other family members are welcome as well.”
