Master class for Gympie juniors

GYMPIE primary school students relished the opportunity of a lifetime yesterday at Albert Park, taking part in cricket coaching clinics with a selection of Australian cricket legends.

Rounding out the Masters Tour of the Gympie, Greg Matthews, Greg Ritchie, Terry Alderman, Michael Kasprowicz, Jimmy Maher and Andy Bichel were on hand to shape the future of the game.

Brushing shoulders with their idols will be etched into the youngsters’ memories for a long time.

Fresh from his century for the ACA Masters on Sunday, Maher was also a big hit with the junior cricketers who had watched his batting performance.

Yesterday’s coaching clinics at Albert Park with primary school students was the finishing touch to an outstanding Masters Tour of Gympie, lasting three days.
