GYMPIE and District Show Society President Joe Mooney is glowing today after last night's hugely successful Bull N Bronc at the Gympie Showgrounds.

"I've got one word for you... HUGE!” he said.

This morning show society members were still tallying up the takings but Mr Mooney estimated between 4500 and 6000 people braved the sweltering heat to swarm through the gates yesterday afternoon.

"We had record nominations and they've saying it's the biggest Bull N Bronc on the NRA (National Rodeo Association) circuit. The Gympie Show Society is really kicking some goals this year,” Mr Mooney said.

Country rock band Brigginshaw had to delay taking to the stage until after 11pm as the number of competitors in the rodeo events blew out.

More details on the winners of events as they come to hand.
