Mary St markets to go ahead

SATURDAY markets in Gympie's main street will kick off at the end of September.

While the date is yet to be confirmed, organisers behind the plan, Gympie Rotary Club, has requested that craftspeople, producers and micro businesses who wish to participate lodge their expressions of interest with market chairman Kerren Smith. Mr Smith said he could be contacted several ways.

Phone 5482 1166 or 0418 799 368 or email kerrens@smithson.com.au.

He said the cost of running a stall was still to be decided and would vary depending on the space required.

Potential stall holders who move fast and stake their claim can take advantage of discounted rates for early birds. Stall holders will be required to conform to list of criteria carefully selected by the committee to ensure that stalls will not compete with Mary St retailers.

The market will be held on the first, third and fifth Saturday mornings of the month and depending on patronage, may extend to mid-afternoon.
