Man's body found in Sunshine Coast hinterland creek

UPDATE 5.40PM:

UNDERTAKERS have been called after a man's body was pulled from Obi Obi Creek in the Sunshine Coast hinterland this afternoon.

The body was reportedly found floating at about 1pm today and swiftwater rescue fire service crewmen were called in to help retrieve the body.

A Queensland Police Service spokesman said it was unclear how long the body had been there or what may have caused the death, but it appeared the body had been there for some time.

Police were still working to identify the body, which was found near the Maleny Golf Course, not far from popular Gardners Falls.

EARLIER:

A MAN'S body has been found in a hinterland creek near a golf course in the Sunshine Coast hinterland.

A Queensland Police Service spokesman said swiftwater rescue crewmen from the Queensland Fire and Emergency Service were assisting to pull the man's body from the water.

The body was reportedly found floating in a creek near Porters Ln, close to the Maleny Golf Club, just before 1pm.

The spokesman was unable to confirm the age of the deceased person yet.
