Man stabbed with garden secateurs after car crash

A MAN was allegedly stabbed with gardening secateurs while trying to stop a driver leaving the scene of a car crash last night.

Police say shortly after 7pm two cars hit each other while driving through Geebung, after which the two drivers became involved in an altercation.

Shortly later the two drivers turned into Newman Road with one of the cars crashing into a light pole.

One driver exited his car and began walking away.

A 57-year-old Zillmere man approached the driver but was attacked with the secateurs and stabbed several times after a brief scuffle.

He was stabbed in the neck, hip and stomach.

Two more people arrived and the three of them restrained the attacker until police arrived.

The Zillmere man was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A 20-year-old Clontarf man was arrested and charged with one count of unlawful wounding. He is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on November 28.

Police investigations are continuing and police have spoken to the driver of the other vehicle
