Man stabbed in chest in early morning dispute

A WOMAN will face court charged with stabbing her de facto partner in a disturbance at Oakey.

Police said the man, 39, presented himself to Oakey Hospital about 4am Sunday with a deep stab wound in his chest.

He was transferred to Toowoomba Hospital before being airlifted to a Brisbane hospital where he is believed to be in a stable condition.

Toowoomba police Criminal Investigation Branch Detective Senior Sergeant Paul McCusker said a woman, 33, was located Sunday morning and was taken into custody.

She was charged with one count of unlawful wounding, and is due to appear in Toowoomba Magistrates Court tomorrow morning.

It is understood police will object to any bail application made.
