Man in hospital after Dalby assault

POLICE have charged a man following an incident at Dalby early this morning which has left another man with head injuries.

It will be alleged around 2.45am the man approached the 38-year-old victim on Drayton Street before punching him in the head, causing him to fall and hit his head on the ground.

The 38-year-old victim was transported to the Toowoomba Hospital with non-life-threatening head injuries.

A 33-year-old Wyreema man has been charged with grievous bodily harm and is due to appear in the Dalby Magistrates Court on May 24.

EARLIER: A 38-year-old man was rushed to Toowoomba Hospital this morning with head injuries sustained in an alleged assault in Dalby.

Police Media claimed the victim was punched during an altercation in Drayton St, Dalby, about 2.45am.

He fell to the ground and hit his head.

He was transported by ambulance to Toowoomba Hospital with head injuries.

His condition is not known at this stage and police are speaking with another man about the incident.
