Man glassed to his face in fast-food carpark

A MAN has been hit in the face with a glass bottle around 1am at Palm Beach this morning.

Police say the 19-year-old man was driving from the carpark of a fast-food restaurant when he got into an argument with a man who was walking along the Gold Coast Highway.

The man has allegedly approached the driver and struck him in the face with a glass he'd been holding.

The driver took himself to Tweed Heads Hospital with a deep cut to the face and had to be taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for further surgery.

Police have located and arrested a 21-year-old Banyo man.

He was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital with a cut to his hand.

He has been charged with wounding and will appear in Southport Magistrates Court this morning
