Drunk man falls off roof after night out

A WANDAL man, aged in his 40s, is recovering in Rockhampton Hospital after he fell off his roof early yesterday morning.

The fall allegedly followed a night of drinking and took place about 3am.

Reports suggested the man had arrived home from a night out before the accident.

He had gone to bed after the fall but woke up about 9am in pain and unable to move.

He was believed to have suffered a rib injury, numerous abrasions and numbness.

His injuries were not life-threatening and he was transported to hospital in a stable condition.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesman said the man also complained of chest and back pain.

Extra crews were called in to assist in removing him from the Western St house.

It was unclear how the man had got onto the roof.
