Man charged over alleged assault

A MAN has been charged after another man and a child were allegedly assaulted in a home in the South Burnett on Thursday night.

Police said a man has been charged with a number of offences after an incident in Nanango.

Police were called to a Torong Rd address after the man, believed to in his 60s, and child, six, were allegedly assaulted by two men at around 10.30pm. The man and child were taken to the Kingaroy Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A 34-year-old Aldershot man has been charged with two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm whilst in company and one count each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and wilful damage.

He is due to appear in the Kingaroy Magistrates Court today.

Police investigations are continuing.
