UPDATE 2:20PM:  THE man accused of murdering a Brisbane bus driver has briefly appeared in court. 

Anthony O'Donohue, 48, faced Brisbane Magistrates Court and was remanded in custody.  He faces charges of murder, arson and eleven counts of attempted murder for Friday's alleged attack that left Manmeet Alisher dead. 

Brisbane Times reported police prosecutors requested the names of complainants and witnesses in the case be suppressed. 

 

 

EARLIER: MOOROOKA will host a vigil for a bus driver allegedly set on fire and killed yesterday as a 48-year-old man will face court charged with murder.

Queensland Police charged the man late on Friday night with murder, arson and eleven counts of attempted murder.

He is due to make his first court appearance today.

The bus driver, 29-year-old Manmeet Alisher, was killed when the man allegedly threw an incendiary item at him while boarding the bus on Beaudesert Rd about 9am on Friday.

A vigil is planned for Friday evening at Luxworth Place on Beaudesert Rd.

Brisbane City Council is also flying flags at half-mast at council buildings to honour Mr Alisher.
