Man chained to bed for 20 years

POLICE have accidentally discovered a man chained to a bed in the basement of his family home in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The man was found as police searched homes for members of a drug gang. Armando de Andrade (pictured) was allegedly held captive by his father and stepmother for 20 years. Last seen in public aged 16, the 36-year-old had "enormous” toenails and fingernails and a beard down to his knees. He was "malnourished” and had lived in virtual darkness in a room with the floor covered in feces. No arrests have been made.
