Man airlifted after Kingaroy stabbing

KINGAROY Police are investigating an alleged stabbing in Kingaroy last night.

Acting Senior Sergeant Brad Johannesen said an incident happened near Alford St and Mant St in Kingaroy on Thursday at about 9pm.

"A group of people became involved in an altercation, as a result a 47-year-old man was the victim," he said.

The man was taken to Kingaroy Hospital and then airlifted to Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane.

Sgt Johannesen said police had spoken to a number of people that witnessed the event, but the matter was still being investigated.

"If anybody happened to witness the incident that hasn't spoken to police already, we'd encourage them to come forward," he said.
