
Witness tells of horror of Morayfield crash
POLICE have confirmed that no evasive action was taken in a fatal single vehicle accident in Morayfield overnight.
At approximately 2.30am a white 2000 model Ford Courier utility vehicle left the road at the end of McLoughlin Rd in a semi-rural part of Morayfield.
The 42 year old male driver from Caboolture was pronounced dead at the scene and extracted from the vehicle with the assistance of Queensland Fire and Emergency Services personnel.
Police and ambulance were also in attendance.
Nearby resident Jaun Van Heerden (17) heard the accident from his bedroom and rushed to the site to try and assist.
He said he arrived to a crumpled mess of a vehicle.
"The car noise was constant. I heard no signs of the car attempting to slow down before the bang," he said.
His father Vernon and neighbour Geoff attempted to find a pulse but were unable. Emergency services were called by his mother Sjarin.
Burpengarry Forensic Crash Unit is continuing to investigate the accident.
Man, 42, dies after vehicle hits tree at Morayfield
POLICE are investigating a fatal a single vehicle traffic crash at Morayfield this morning.
Initial information indicates around 2.20am a vehicle travelling west on McLoughlin Road left the roadway and collided with a tree.
The 42-year-old male driver from Caboolture died at the scene.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the incident.
