Magpies hit hard with players facing time out

AFTER securing former Kangaroo Levi Greenwood as part of the trade that saw Dayne Beams head to Brisbane, Collingwood faces the prospect of being without the ex-Roo indefinitely.

The 26-year-old (pictured) is expected to be sidelined for several weeks after injuring his ankle during the 61-point loss to the Western Bulldogs in their NAB Challenge match at the weekend.

The other player the Magpies received in the Beams trade, former Brisbane midfielder Jack Crisp, is being investigated by the AFL for betting on games during his time with the Lions. Meanwhile, six players have been fined a total of $6500 for incidents in two NAB Challenge games.

Adelaide's Rory Sloane and Port's Aaron Young can accept $1000 fines from separate incidents in their game, while Giant Devon Smith was hit with a $1500 fine and Callan Ward, Rhyce Shaw and Lewis Jetta $1000 each after a melee in their fiery game in Canberra.
