TWO men were lucky to escape with only minor injuries on Saturday afternoon after their car spun out of control and caught on fire at Rammutt Rd at Chatsworth.

The driver and passenger, both in their early 20s, were shaken after their car clipped two trees before catching fire.

Gympie firefighters tried to contain the blaze but witnesses say there was nothing but a shell of the  BF Falcon sedan left.

Gympie police are investigating the incident.
