Love It or List It hosts back for more

LOVE It or List It Australia debuted with such success, a second season is already in the works at Foxtel, with sparring hosts Andrew Winter and Neale Whitaker both vowing to return to continue their on-air spat.

"I mean obviously it's got nothing to do with Neale being on the show," joked Winter, when asked about why he thought the program had been commissioned to return just five episodes into its first season.

"But it looks like I'll be working with him again," he added, inserting an affected groan.

However, it's this tongue-in-cheek camaraderie between real estate expert Winter and design guru Whitaker, that has been key to establishing Love It or List It Australia as the second most popular program on Foxtel's Lifestyle channel.

It is only overshadowed by Winter's long-established Selling Houses Australia.

But despite the quick quips and searing insults, both hosts will begrudgingly admit they rely on each other and even secretly get on, albeit in a format which hinges on competition.

Winter and Whitaker must battle to convince contestants to either 'love' their home - thanks to Whitaker's renovation - or 'list' it for sale - thanks to Winter's winning them over by tempting them with an alternate property they could buy with the proceeds.

The owners then make their decision, delivering it on camera where Winter and Whitaker hear for the first time whether they have won or lost the episode.

"It does annoy me when Neale does well," confessed Winter.

Whitaker is equally as miffed when Winter comes out on top but maintains he's usually over it by the next morning.

But that's not to say he's ruling out a back lane brawl.

"Maybe that will be one of the differences with season two," he said, with a chuckle.

Applications are now open for season two.

Producers are looking for homeowners who have a love/hate relationship with their house and are facing the tough decision of whether to sell or renovate.
