The London Line Up

To celebrate the world's greatest sporting event, APN's Newspapers in Education programme is providing teachers and students with resources and materials covering many aspects of the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games being held in London.

The London Line -Up  features a wide range of information and activities that will lead to a greater appreciation and understanding of the Olympic Games. It supporst learning across the curriculum with empahasis on literacy, numeracy, history, geography, science and social values.

The London Line-Up examines different aspects of the Games. Some of the topics covered are:

  • Australia's athletes
  • The history of the Games
  • The host country and London Landmarks
  • Opening and Closing ceremonies
  • The venues, mascots and other interesting facts about the London Games.
  • The competition
  • Other countries competing
  • Paralympics

 The programme  also features online resources . These resources aim to support the London Line-Up by providing extra material and links to interesting information about the Games.
