Little Haven Palliative Care harnesses support

IT'S spring carnival racing time again and you're invited to get swept up in Melbourne Cup fever at Little Haven Palliative care's trackside lunch on Tuesday, November 1.

The cup day carnival and Little Haven's VIP Melbourne Cup Lunch are integral parts of the service's annual fundraising calendar, bridging the ever-widening gap in QHealth funding and demand for palliative care.

The lunch includes a big screen TVs, champagne and canapes, a two-course plated lunch, full TAB facilities and raffles and sweeps.

Highlights of the day will be a hat parade and fashion parade by Foxy Lady boutique.

With the intention of raising $5000 on cup day, Little Haven hopes to secure the support of 20 community-minded businesses to sponsor a trotter for $250.

Money raised will go to Little Haven's services providing compassionate nursing care, on call 24 hours a day, loan of all medical equipment, cancer and bereavement support to patients with a terminal illness and their families in this region, free of charge.

Compassionate care and living support improves not just quality but also quantity of life.

Businesses wishing to maximise their Melbourne Cup day fun are invited to attend the very popular Little Haven Luncheon held trackside or inquire about private marquee availability.

For lunch tickets, or more information on sponsoring a trotter, head to littlehaven.org.au or call the office on 5482 9091.
