Linc soars on world-first fuel

LINC Energy is taking to the skies to showcase a synthetic jet fuel produced at a world-first coal-to-liquids project near Chinchilla.

CEO Peter Bond will touchdown in Chinchilla on May 10 in a Citation CJ2 that will fly 4272 kilometres from Perth, stopping at various cities along the way.

The Jet A1 Dash, comes after Linc announced it would embark on a commercial underground coal gasification project in China.

Mr Bond said the three-day event marked a key milestone for Linc as it proved that jet fuel could be made in Australia from coal resources.

"It is exciting that the announcement has coincided with the Jet A1 Dash because the event is designed to showcase the proven nature of UCG (underground coal gasification) to GTL (gas to liquids) and the fuel it produces," he said.
